Zeiss Glass, Pocket Size. The Point-and-Shoot With a Secret Viewfinder.
After Kyocera bought Yashica in 1983, it built a line of pocket cameras around Carl Zeiss optics, and the T5 is the most complete of them. Launched in 1995 and also sold as the T4 Super, it carries the same celebrated Carl Zeiss Tessar T* 35mm f/3.5 as the T4, four elements in three groups with Zeiss's T* multicoating, now in a weatherproofed body. Its signature is the Super Scope, a small waist-level finder on the top plate that lets you frame from chest height, unnoticed, the way photographers once shot with twin-lens reflexes. Autofocus reaches as close as 35 cm and the built-in flash fills shadows without fuss. The T series became a favorite of fashion and street photographers, and with spare parts now scarce, clean working examples are getting harder to find. Very Good condition, with light signs of use. For the photographer who values rendering over specifications, or the collector who wants the most complete version of the T series.
