The Olympus Mju II, known in North America as the Stylus Epic, was conceived by Yoshihisa Maitani, the same genius behind the OM system and the original XA, and it shows in every millimetre of its clamshell form. With an f/2.8 lens, a splash-proof body, and 3.8 million units sold before production ended, it became the definitive everyday compact. Today, working units routinely sell for €300 to €600 and demand never cools. These two units carry the honest marks of a life lived fully, because that is exactly what they were made for.
