"Pikaichi." Top of the Class. The Best Nikon Ever Put in a Compact.
In Japan, Nikon themselves nicknamed this camera Pikaichi, a word meaning "top notch," "best in class," the one that stands above all others. Launched in 1983 as Nikon's very first autofocus camera, the L35AF was built not from plastic ambition but from all-metal conviction, machined and finished to Nikon's professional standards, wrapped in a slim civilian form. Its 35mm f/2.8 five-element multi-coated lens produces images of exceptional clarity with a touch of corner vignetting that film lovers have come to adore. In mint condition, it is as close to new as this camera will ever exist again. Owning one is a privilege.
