Medium Format Made Portable. The Workhorse of a Generation.
In 1976 Mamiya put medium format into a camera you could handle almost like a 35mm SLR. The M645 system shot 6×4.5 cm frames on 120 film, fifteen to a roll, and the M645 1000S topped the range, adding a 1/1000 second top speed (hence the name), a self-timer and depth-of-field preview to the original M645. Mirror lock-up and multiple exposures are there too, along with interchangeable finders, focusing screens and an extensive family of Sekor lenses. Each negative is roughly 2.7 times the area of a 35mm frame, which means smoother tones, finer detail and that unmistakable medium-format depth. Wedding, portrait and landscape photographers relied on these cameras for years, and they remain one of the most affordable routes into serious medium format. This example comes with an 80mm lens. In Very Good condition, it shows honest signs of use. For the photographer stepping up from 35mm, or the professional who wants a dependable, modular medium-format kit.
