The Lightweight White L. Professional Telephoto Without the Weight.
Canon’s white L lenses are a familiar sight on the sidelines of sporting events. The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM brought that professional standard into a lens light enough to carry all day. Introduced in 2006, it weighs just 760 grams, about half as much as the f/2.8 versions. Its optics use one fluorite and two UD elements, 20 elements in 15 groups in all, for crisp, contrasty images with very little color fringing. Four stops of image stabilization let you shoot handheld at slow shutter speeds that would otherwise blur. A ring-type USM motor focuses fast and quietly, and you can turn the focus ring at any time without switching out of autofocus. Zoom and focus are both internal, so the lens never changes length. It’s sealed against dust and moisture and has eight rounded aperture blades for smooth background blur. It fits every Canon EOS camera, film or digital, and works on Canon’s mirrorless bodies with Canon’s EF-EOS R adapter. In Very Good condition, with light signs of use. For the sports, wildlife or portrait photographer who wants L-series quality in a lens they’ll actually carry.
